Mason Lord Mason Lord – Founder, Managing Partner 
Mason Lord, a resident of Sherman, Connecticut, founded Hudson Valley Preservation (HVP) in 1991. Today, Mason maintains the dual role of visionary and hands-on design/sales coordinator for the company. He has a rich background in the historic tradition- having apprenticed as a restoration craftsman with the National Trust For Historic Preservation at Lyndhurst. He brings a lifelong passion for architecture and a degree from Duke University to bear on the careful development of the team concept. HVP’s integrated design and build program, which incorporates 24-hour, web-based communication is a fresh response to the top down, architect-driven approach, proving itself an invaluable solution for homeowners disenchanted by a traditional design/bid system. This holistic building approach is at the vanguard of customer-centered home remodeling- knitting together client, design and builder for the benefit and delight of all involved.

 

Dave Seegers Dave SeegersPartner, Design to Production Coordinator
Dave is an entrepreneur with years of residential construction experience. He first met Mason while working as a masonry contractor at Lyndhurst. A high-energy, detail-oriented craftsman and a creative problem-solver with a geology degree, Dave is particularly good at figuring out the best way to build a design - using the right materials and techniques for the job. Together, Dave and Mason, achieve the design and construction integration essential for great results. Dave skillfully balances the needs of client, design team, contractors, and construction crew. Using HVP’s unique, web-based communication system, Dave easily keeps the whole team on the same page. Dave’s knack for sweating the details is HVP’s secret weapon in completing building projects on time, while managing financial expectations for all parties - especially the homeowner!

 

Dorothy De Vere Langley Dorothy De Vere Langley Client Liaison
Dorothy comes to HVP with years of experience as a customer support professional in the design industry. Her background includes working with architectural, contract and landscape designers, as well as fabrication and appliance suppliers. With her communication skills and a passion for “all things design”, Dorothy is ideal for helping to translate your ideas into reality. From first contact, Dorothy will you help assess your project’s scope, its must-haves and financials. If you decide that HVP is a fit, Dorothy will be your guide in navigating the building experience: from attending weekly meetings, shopping for fixtures, right through to scheduling the final post construction warranty walk-through. She knows how important it is for one’s space to reflect the owner and looks forward to working with you on your projects.

 

Joe Dellanno, Residential Remodeling and Custom Home Designer   
Joe has specialized in residential remodeling and custom home design for over twenty years. His practical experience integrating design solutions with real world building methods- including green construction- is key in helping clients navigate within a predetermined financial range, successfully managing remodeling issues while meeting their design expectations. Joe uses three-dimensional software that allows homeowners to visualize how their ideas will impact building and financial considerations before construction gets underway. Thanks to the implementation of Joe’s 24-hour, web-based, information-sharing forum, clients can access their project from any internet-ready computer in the world. Together, all parties engage in an interactive meeting process that promotes full participation. Team members can weigh in on every aspect of a building project- from design issues to construction detailing- in real time, making sure to keep your project on schedule and to your satisfaction.

Employees
We place a high value on training; each employee is given ongoing opportunities to improve skills in his or her area of expertise, which in turn, builds team strength. Project managers, master carpenter, carpenters, and apprentices are critical team members and provide a depth of experience. HVP utilizes a building model known as the master carpenter system in which a master carpenter “owns” a project from start to finish. The master carpenter is on the job every day making sure your project is on track and moving forward. The project manager and master carpenter draw daily on team input to provide the important weekly, on-the-ground updates as a project develops. Our employees are conscientious workers who also have your best interest in mind when working in your home.
