Coming Home

The transformation from outbuilding to cozy home won this project a Chrysalis award for Whole House Remodel Under $200,000.

Homes change over time, like their owners. In Patterson, NY this outbuilding began life as a barn, was converted to a garage, and then became a home for its single inhabitant after the main house proved too large.

Our assignment was to retain its historical character and build a new structure within the old one.

We removed and replaced the original, oil-soaked floor - a holdover from its days as a garage. A tiled bathroom and open kitchen completed the remodel.
